About Us

The Sober Riders is a fellowship of Men and Women who live by the principles of the 12 step program of recovery, and promote, through attraction, the creation and preservation of a brotherhood for motorcyclists in a sober, drug free and safe environment.

In a nutshell, we are a group of recovering alcoholics and addicts that enjoy motorcycling. You can find us a the Metro-West Alano Club Monday nights at 7:30pm during riding season, and the 1st and 3rd Mondays in non-riding season (November 1 thru April 15).
Membership is open to Sober recovering motorcyclists who are active in a 12 step substance abuse program. Non-members are welcome to join our meetings.

Throughout the year we participate in a variety of events as a group.

For example:

– Each week we select a different AA/NA meeting to attend
– Throughout the year we support other recovery clubs
dances and events
– Each year we attend Founders Day in Akron, OH
– We also host a Labor Day campout at Somerset Beach

Further, we host an AA Open Speaker meeting and Dance as a fund raising opportunity so that we can support families at Christmas that would otherwise not have the needed resources to provide their children with a nice holiday.
